Who We Are

Experienced, expert counsel

We are experienced fundraisers who will provide your organization with strategic and effective development counsel. We will lead the way, lift the barriers, and even push back—if that’s what it takes to help you move your cause ahead.

Our approach is reflected in our actions:

  • We are volunteers who help nonprofit organizations achieve their missions. Our founder, Jeffrey Wilt has served, chaired, and supported numerous nonprofit boards and committees, including Elk Hill, The Healing Place/CARITAS, Meals on Wheels, and state-wide board Voices for Virginia’s Children. Bobby Thalhimer has years of community service, including Impact Makers, the Institute of Philanthropy at University of Richmond, the Science Museum, and The Community Foundation.
  • We are donors who support our community’s needs. In addition to our individual giving, we give as a team. In 2012, The Monument Group established a donor-advised fund at The Community Foundation bearing the company’s name.
  • We are firmly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Monument Group believes that equity and inclusion are vital to the success of an organization, especially in fundraising. This begins internally, with staff and board, and extends to relationship building with donors, volunteers, and your broader constituency. The more diverse voices at the table, the greater the impact on the community.
  • We are leaders in the profession, sharing our knowledge locally, nationally, and internationally. Our Managing Partner, Amanda Macdonald, was the president of the board of the local chapter of AFP, where she also served as the co-chair the Inclusive Fellows Program.
