Sarah Kim, Senior Consultant
Sarah Kim joined The Monument Group in 2021. She brings over 25 years of team building, strategic planning, grant writing, campaign management, board development, and community building and is committed to helping others find success in the mission-driven sector.
Her career began at the Science Museum of Virginia Foundation where she grew through the ranks of multiple areas of key management, and ultimately served as Executive Director during a $30 million capital campaign. With these building blocks, she planned and executed capital campaigns for the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, the James River Association, and the Valentine.
Campaign ideation, budgeting, feasibility, dreaming, re-scaling, board participation, leadership gifts – Sarah can help guide your team in a manner that makes these key campaign components less stressful and more energizing.
As Interim Director of the Neighborhood Resource Center, Sarah helped coach a team through the loss of their beloved leader/founder and worked with the Board to stabilize funding and secure the physical space to ensure much-needed services to families in the Fulton community. With this experience, Sarah developed the tools to help smaller organizations develop realistic plans for growth and alignment with mission to best serve the community.
Sarah continues her commitment to Richmond through her service on the Board of ART 180 and also brings her perspectives gained by volunteering for the Central Park Conservancy and the Wild Bird Fund during her time living in Manhattan.
Sarah received her BA in Psychology and Art History from the College of William and Mary. She is a graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond.
