Family Lifeline

What began as a simple engagement, has evolved into more than a decade-long relationship with The Monument Group being an integral part of Family Lifeline’s ongoing fundraising operations.

Along the way, The Monument Group has provided guidance and expertise that has helped the organization navigate a major merger, nearly triple the effectiveness of its development campaigns, and structure its fundraising to be more targeted and efficient. The Monument Group has truly become a part of the Family Lifeline team.

A development lifeline.
When Family Lifeline needed staff help in its development office, it turned to The Monument Group to help lead the recruiting. But when that search fell short, the organization recognized the resource it needed was right in front of them, and so Family Lifeline made The Monument Group responsible for its ongoing development.

Almost fifteen years later, that decision has paid significant dividends, raising Family Lifeline’s annual fundraising from $300,000 to upwards of $1 million by targeting the right mix of individuals, corporations, and foundations. And when Family Lifeline was approached in 2012 about a possible merger by CHIP of Greater Richmond, the organization knew it could count on The Monument Group to help guide it through the process. Their experience in providing strategic counsel for two other nonprofit mergers – FeedMore and The Healing Place – helped provide a clear-cut roadmap for the often complex merger process.
