Jeffrey Wilt, Principal & Founder
Of all the roles that Jeffrey Wilt plays at The Monument Group – founder and businessman, nonprofit donor and community volunteer – the role that best defines him is simply: philanthropist. It’s a designation that reflects both his passion and compassion.
For more than 25 years, Jeffrey has helped nonprofits grow in ways that allow them to fulfill their important missions. Over the past two decades, he has helped organizations, ranging in size and cause, raise more than $150 million.
Jeffrey founded The Monument Group in 1996 with the goal of helping give nonprofits the tools they need to succeed. With a focus on engagement – engaging nonprofit staff in strategic development, engaging board members in major gift fundraising, engaging volunteers to best tap their energy and commitment – Jeffrey has helped nonprofits hone their focus, leverage their assets, and achieve extraordinary results.
Reflecting his own commitment to the broader community, Jeffrey stays busy on the volunteer front. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees, contributing both his expertise and resources toward the success of a range of nonprofit organizations. In his capacity as both consultant and board member, Jeffrey has developed unparalleled expertise in Central Virginia with supporting nonprofits in mergers, acquisitions, and formation of strategic partnerships. He was instrumental in the successful mergers between Meals on Wheels and Central VA Food Bank – now FeedMore, CARITAS and The Healing Place – now CARITAS Works, and Family Lifeline and CHIP.
Prior to founding The Monument Group, Jeffrey was a partner in the firm of MacIntyre Associates in Wilmington, Delaware and previously served as the director of development at Unity College in Maine and the development coordinator for the Upper Bucks YMCA in Pennsylvania.
Jeffrey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Temple University. He is a graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond.
